Danse Compagnie Trek
Formed by Cino Miller in Morocco in 1996, is a professional contemporary ballet company for international dancers and students providing them with stimulating and creative opportunities in dance by supporting and promoting future talent through art and entertainment.
THE GOAL
The goal of Danse Compagnie Trek is to introduce various forms of dance to a larger audience, to provide dancers with opportunities to perform and to give young dance students a starting point in shaping their careers.
THE TREK WAY OF THINKING
We are willing and able to design performances and showcases, meeting the standards and conditions of each community in the highest professional manner. In addition to existing choreographies with specially designed costumes we tailor performances according to the requirements of each event and environment.
A FEW MILESTONES...
In 1996, Danse Compagnie Trek represented Morocco at the dance festival in Karmiel, Israel. In addition to Israel, the troupe performed in Israel, Montpellier and was invited to dance in the Lyon Bienniale in 1999.
In 1998, Trek represented Morocco in Les Annees Des Maroc en France, (a cultural event sponsored by the French Government ) in association with the opera company All’Opera, performing in the operetta Le Sultan de Versailles, in which Miller choreographed and danced.
In 2004, Trek performed The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a work based on the classic story of love and betrayal written by Victor Hugo. The troupe consisted of 16 professional dancers and young students of local dance schools.
In 2008, Trek performed Masquerazz!! through a looking glass…, a fusion of different genres of dance based on the Venice carnival. The work was performed in Tampere and later on in Seinäjoki. The troup consisted of 16 professional dancers and young students of local dance schools. Parts of Masquerazz!! were performed at the Kajaani Tanssii –event in February 2009.
In July 2009, Danse Compagnie Trek also gave a short film presentation of Masquerazz!! through a looking glass… at the CID (International Dance Council) World Congress On Dance Research in Málaga, Spain.
